With less than 2 months to go until the Newcastle Festival of Flight 2019 there are plans to turn Castle Park into a ‘Food Village & Children’s zone on June 22nd.
The Food Village will have various stalls & vendors showcasing a variety of both hot and cold food and drink in a ‘street food’ theme as well as a variety of bar options such as Coffee trucks, Gin & Prosecco bars and real Ale.
The Children’s zone will have ‘fun, family friendly activities’ with up to 12 stations featuring Arts & Crafts, face painting and balloon modelling along with many more fun activities.
Live music performances will also take place and seating will be provided as well as toilet facilities.
‘The events aim is to ‘Provide an attractive space that has popular appeal as the Festival of Flight caters to a wide demographic.
Both zones will be required to have ‘under cover’ provision in case of adverse weather conditions. The council hope that this new, streamlined event zone will enhance the visitor experience, and encourage visitors to stay longer in the town.
With now under two months to go to the Festival of Flight on June 22nd the flying programme will be released in the coming weeks as well as details other on ground activities and static aircraft displays!
Lets just hope the weather is a good bit better than last years Festival of Flight!
