Airwaves Portrush have released details of ground activities on the 5th & 6th of September
The space along the full length of the peninsula will be be filled with entertainment, stalls, crafts, living history installations, armed forces displays, the latest cars and an exciting new aircraft exhibition.
Ulster Aviation Society
New for 2015 – we have established a partnership with the Ulster Aviation Society to bring their largest off-site exhibition to Portrush. The free to enter exhibition space will feature a Westland Wessex helicopter, full size Spitfire replica, Canberra jet bomber nose cone, Irish Air Corps Alouette helicopter, a gun turret from a Whitley bomber, a Merlin engine, and a marquee featuring items and story boards of Coastal Command, WWII USAF in Northern Ireland and the Martin Baker ejection seat.
The UAS compound will also host the relics of the Spitfire rescued from a bog in Donegal, and the air cadets who will bring a climbing wall and several aircraft nosecones.
Static Helicopter Site
Pop up to the tennis courts at the Recreation Grounds to view the Royal Navy Sea King HC4 “Jungly”, the AAC Gazelle, the Huey and the Loach. Close up viewing is subject to timings and pilots’ discretion.
