Newcastle has a new flight director and has confirmed the worlds only flying Bristol Blenheim For Newcastle on the 8th of August!
The Bristol Blenheim was only recently restored to flight after a very long restoration effort The Bristol Blenheim was a British light bomber aircraft designed and built by the Bristol Aeroplane Company that was used extensively in the early days of the Second World War. It was adapted as an interim long-rangeand night fighter, pending the availability of the Beaufighter. It was one of the first British aircraft to have all-metal stressed-skin construction, retractable landing gear, flaps, a powered gun turret and variable-pitch propellers..
The New flight director, Rick Peacock-Edwards has served on the FCC (Flight control Committee) of huge airshows like Farnborough, RIAT Fairford and Biggin Hill!!
The previous Flight director, Jeff Salter did a fantastic job over the last 5 years making Newcastle what it is, so it seems Newcastle is in good hands with the change!
